2 On 1 Vs 1 On 1

A while ago, me and my wife went for a ride on my bike(jilliang)..there we met along the road a kawasaki rouser 135..when i was about catch Him up i notice he went to full throttle so i maintain my speed and when we are on the same alignment i slightly played on my throttle there i notice a sudden change of sound on my engine and my speedo just went increasing leaving the rouser behind..



just want to ask if is it normal to have that change of sound while on track?
